Hosted by Jacaranda Healthcare this week, the eHealth Study Tour objectives includes:

• Enhancement of knowledge and experience on IT management and implementation of GS1 system of standards,
• Building new visions as well as innovation from adaptation of what are implemented at visited hospitals, and
• Building IT healthcare academic networks between physicians, nurses, and other stakeholders from Thailand and experts from foreign countries.The theme for today’s exclusive panel session, held at NSW Department of Industry, explored emerging technologies in healthcare. Presenters and panellists included Sean Smith and Ken Blaikie (Jacaranda Healthcare), Dr Joseph Grace (Claydata), Glenn Anderson (Bizcaps Software) and Professor Jon Patrick (Health Language Analytics).

Delegates gained insight from live demonstrations of eHealth solutions in operation throughout Australia. These included the usage of GS1 standards and images for secure product identification and procurement within Bizcaps MCIS solution; the innovative use of QR codes within Claydata’s cloud based EMR solution; and, turning text into clinical knowledge with HLA.
